主讲人简介：
Torgeir Moan是海洋工程领域顶尖专家，中国工程院外籍院士，挪威皇家科学院院士、英国皇家工程院院士、国际桥梁及结构工程师协会终身会员、美国土木工程学会终身会员。现任宁波大学船舶与海洋装备研究院院长，曾任挪威科技大学船舶与海洋工程中心主任。荣获中国政府友谊奖，浙江省茶花奖。2016年获美国船舶海洋工程协会戴维森奖章。著名期刊《Marine Structures》主编以及其他多个国际期刊编委，发表了约700余篇学术论文、出版了19本专著与合著。主要研究方向为海洋结构物设计、风险与可靠性、随机动力学与疲劳、海洋可再生能源技术。他为中国培养了30余名高端人才，3名当选挪威技术科学院院士，14名入选国家和省级人才计划，为中国海洋强国建设提供人才支撑。
报告内容简介：
There are significant opportunities to utilize the oceans to the benefit of the society – through harvesting of energy, food, minerals as well as the use for transport infrastructure, by the use of floating structures. This article provides a perspective on issues related to the design and development of new floating systems based on the lessons learned from offshore oil and gas production worldwide, yet recognizing the difference in function, consequences of failure and economic scale for floating structures in the different sectors. This perspective is used to provide a basis for future technology development for the design needs for future floating systems to insure sustainable, safe and economical use of the yet to be designed floating systems. To provide a perspective projected estimates of energy resources, food, land and raw material issues by 2050 are briefly summarized. The principles and methods for structural integrity management are described and the need to focus more on producibility and sustainability, especially for the emerging sectors, is highlighted.
