主要内容:A general analytical method is developed for the vibroacoustic analysis of an arbitrarily restrained rectangular plate backed by an irregular cavity. The modeling of the structure and the sound space are developed by employing the variational theory. The general boundary conditions are accounted for the artificial spring technique and can easily be obtained by assigning the springs with corresponding values. The exact vibration and sound pressure solutions are obtained by performing the Rayleigh–Ritz approach, which are validated by comparison with the finite element method results. Numerical analyses covering several important parameters including coupling and boundary conditions, the shape change of the sound space are involved. It is shown that the eigenpairs and the energy distributions can be significantly influenced by the coupling conditions and shape of the sound space.
